This Week's Writing Events:  May 4 - 10, 2008

Two signal events occur this week that you won't want to miss.

The first is the season's close for Larry's Poetry Forum, with a featured reading by this years winner of the annual Redding Poetry Competition. The event starts at 7:00, Monday evening. You'll want to hear the winner!

The second is the Ohioana Book Festival, which takes place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the State Library of Ohio. The festival honors a great group of Ohio writers and is a chance for writers to get together to socialize and network. Check out the festival website for more information and for a list of the honorees.

Call for manuscriptsCalls for Writers

This & That Contemporary Newsletter is currently seeking talented freelance writers, authors, poets, critics and more to contribute their work for the Community to enjoy. A bi-monthly publication, designed as a "hybrid" between a newsletter and magazine, This & That only showcases local Central Ohio talent, businesses, groups and organizations, and is provided as a service to the Columbus community through our official distributor DeliverEZE, INK. Ideally, potential candidates will create original content for This & That in a "pg-13" content level (to appeal to the largest demographic, thus increasing readership). Due to space limitations, This & That reserves the right to select content, and makes no guarantee of publishing. For articles that are published in an issue of This & That, candidates will be compensated with a $25 gift card per article. For more information, check www.thisandthatcolumbus.com
